One paper by Dr. Junming Sun, et al, has been published in JACS Great progress has been made in our group to synthesize monodispersed higher thermal-stable silver nanoparticles. Dr. Junming Sun et al. have developed a novel in situ autoreduction route, by which monodispersed silver nanoparticles with different diameter have been fabricated within the matrix of the silica based porous materials. In situ TEM and XRD experiments were also further done to elucidate the agglomeration behavior of the confined and unconfined silver nanoparticles. It is found that the confinement of macrospores significantly improved the thermal stabilities of silver nanoparticles (Figure), which have potential applications in the field of catalysis (especially, high-temperature catalytic reactions). The detailed results have been published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society as a full paper.
