Recently, the Department of Science and Technology of Liaoning Province published the list of provincial key laboratories and provincial technology innovation centers approved to be established in 2019, and the Key Laboratory of Low Carbon Energy Science and Technology applied by Nano and Interfacial Catalysis group was listed on it. Prof. Xiulian Pan was appointed as Director of the laboratory, and Prof. Xinhe Bao was invited as the Director of Academic Committee of the laboratory.

The Key Laboratory will focus on major national needs, develop catalytic theories and key technologies related to the optimal utilization of carbon based energy, including coal and natural gas, form independent intellectual property and accelerate the industrialization process of laboratory achievements through the combination of industry and research institutions, and make contributions to revitalizing the old industrial base in northeast China and promote the economic development of science and technology.
