Catalysts Preparation: Composition and Site
Prof. Krijn P. de Jong
Utrecht University, Netherland
报告摘要:
Catalyst preparation is essential to arrive at active, selective, and stable catalysts for more sustainable chemical processes. In this lecture, we will focus on the chemical composition and the size of nanoparticles as key parameters to control by catalyst preparation. A range of approaches for catalyst preparation will be discussed with emphasis on impregnation, drying, and thermal treatment methods. In situ electron microscopy is used as a new technique to study catalyst preparation atthe nanoscale.
报告人简介:
From 1982-1997, Prof. Krijn P. de Jong worked with Shell Research on catalyst preparation, heavy oil conversion, environmental processes, zeolite catalysts, and synthesis gas production and conversion. In 1997 he was appointed as professor of inorganic chemistry and catalysis at Utrecht University. His research interests include catalyst synthesis, electron microscopy of nanostructured catalysts, hydrocarbon conversions over zeolites, catalysts for liquid-phase catalysis, conversion of synthesis gas to fuels and chemicals, and hydrogen storage. He has published more than 300 scientific papers and 30 patents. He was the Scientific Director of the Debye Institute for Nanomaterials Science of Utrecht University and Vice-Head of the Department of Chemistry. He has received, amongst others, the Unilever Chemistry Award in 1977, Shell Patent Awards in 1987 and in 1991an NWO TOP Research Grant in 2008, the Award for Excellence in Natural Gas Conversion in 2013, and an ERC Advanced Grant in 2013. He was elected as a member of the European Academy of Sciences in 2015 and received the Francois Gault Lectureship Award of the European Federation of Catalysis Societies (EFCATS) in 2017. In 2018, he was appointed as Honorary Professoiat East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) in Shanghai.
